Donate Blood Blood donation exercise at Winchester Farm (Click on picture to enlarge)
On 28th August 2008, staff at Winchester Farm donated blood through the Bloodlink Foundation (BLF).

Kenya’s blood banks require 300,000 litres of blood, and there is currently a shortage of blood in the blood banks.

The Bloodlink Foundation partners with corporate organisations, educational institutions and individuals to encourage blood donation to alleviate the existing shortage.

Farm Manager Before starting the blood donation exercise, members of the Bloodlink Foundation carried out tests for haemoglobin. This ensures that a donor's blood has enough iron and he/she therefore qualifies to donate.

The Farm Manager, Andrew Wambua, led the way in donating blood, under close monitoring by the BLF team.

Donors The Bloodlink carried out an awareness training, to explain the potential donor In total, 39 members of staff at Winchester donated blood.
